A classic timber pergola that frames a seating area and gives climbing plants something to grow on. Chunky square posts carry notched cross beams and an open slatted roof, so roses, wisteria or clematis can spread over the top for dappled summer shade. The timber is pressure treated against rot for long outdoor life.

Assembly
Delivered as pre-cut timber with fixings and instructions. Two adults need around 4 – 5 hours. Fix the posts with the anchors supplied onto concrete or paving, or set them in concrete footings.
Care
Treat with a water-based wood preserver after assembly and every 2 – 3 years. Tie climbing plants in loosely so they do not strain the beams.
